Goodwin/Conrads Lane Improvements
The City of New Braunfels has scheduled a public meeting to inform residents about the upcoming Goodwin Lane/Conrads Lane Improvement Project, which was approved by voters during the 2019 Bond Election.
This $21.4 million project includes widening Goodwin Lane from two to three lanes from FM 306 to Conrads Lane, with additional turn lanes at main intersections, sidewalks, and drainage improvements including the low water crossing at Alligator Creek. The project also includes roadway and drainage improvements on Conrads Lane between Goodwin Lane and the TxDOT improvements at IH-35. In addition this project is being coordinated with NBU’s FM 306 Discharge Line & Pump Station Expansion Project as well as the proposed Alligator Creek Trail project.
Design work on the Goodwin Lane/Conrads Lane Improvement Project is expected to be complete in March of 2022. Construction of the City’s Goodwin Lane/Conrads Lane improvements are scheduled to follow NBU’s waterline improvements with drainage and roadway work anticipated to begin in the summer of 2023 and be complete in the summer of 2025, weather and other factors permitting.
The public meeting to learn more about this project is set for November 15th, 2021, at 5;30 pm at the NBU service Center, located at 355 FM 306 New Braunfels TX 78130.
New Braunfels city staff and project consultants will be on hand to answer questions about the project and its effect on traffic, drainage, and parks. NBU staff and project consultants will also be on hand to answer questions about the waterline improvements on Goodwin Lane and Conrads Lane.
