Ownership and History:

August 25, 1969—The 4.137 acres were donated to the City of New Braunfels from an industrial company, Servtex Materials Company.  The park is named after the company’s president, Mr. Ernest Eikel.  Servtex Materials Company began some time in the early 1930s, and operated a rock crushing plant and a limestone quarry until the mid-1970s.

May 22, 2003— The JAWS skate park was dedicated as an element of the open space park.
