The City of New Braunfels is seeking qualified applicants to join the Solid Waste and Recycling Division team, and a hiring event has been set to interview applicants and immediately hire for a number of vehicle operator and refuse collector positions.
The hiring event is set for Friday, August 27th, 2021, from 9am to 2pm at the New Braunfels Civic and Convention Center, located at 375 South Castell Avenue.
Available positions include:
Solid Waste Operator: $17.00 per hour minimum (may increase depending on experience)
Advancement opportunities for Operator I, II, and III
Performs skilled and semiskilled work operating and driving solid waste and recycling collection vehicles and equipment on daily routes and for special collection events. Although a minimum Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required, if you do not have a CDL the City can help you obtain one.
Refuse Collector: $13.50 per hour minimum (may increase depending on experience)
Advancement opportunities for Collector I, II, and III
Manually collects refuse and recyclables and assists with maintenance of Solid Waste and Recycling Division vehicles and equipment. No prior experience necessary.
