Public Input Meeting for Preliminary Design of Waterway Lane Extension Project

The City of New Braunfels will host a public input meeting to go over the preliminary design for the proposed extension of Waterway Lane, from Gruene Road to Common Street.

The public meeting is set for Tuesday, Aug. 17th, 2021, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Mission & Outreach Building of Gruene United Methodist Church, located at 2629 E. Common Street.

The extension of Waterway Lane is being proposed in order to alleviate traffic on Hanz Drive as well as the congestion often seen at the intersection of Common Street and Gruene Road. During the public meeting, residents will be able to see early designs of the project, including lane configurations, bike lanes, sidewalk locations, and layouts of the connecting intersections.

“This is an opportunity for residents to better understand what’s planned, ask questions, and give input for consideration to the final design of this future connector roadway to Gruene Road and Common Street,” said Public Works Director Greg Malatek.

Again, the public meeting on the proposed extension of Waterway Lane is set for Tuesday, Aug. 17th, 2021, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Mission & Outreach Building of Gruene United Methodist Church. For additional information, please visit www.nbtexas.org/waterway.
