[ARCHIVED] Comal County set to administer 5,000-second dose COVID-19 vaccines

Comal County and the City of New Braunfels continue their partnership vaccinating the public against COVID-19.

Five thousand second dose vaccines will be administered over the next two weeks.

The first clinic is happening on Wednesday, February 24, at the New Braunfels Convention Center from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

“This clinic is for second doses only,” said Comal County Public Health Director Cheryl Fraser. “People who received their first doses at the Civic Center on January 21 or January 27 should be at this clinic.  This is also for people who came to the Health Department for a first dose vaccine between January 25 – 29 . Please, bring your ID and paperwork with you.”

The second event is a two-day clinic on March  2 and March 3.  Public Health, with the help of student nurses, will administer 4,000 second doses to residents over those two days.

Comal County’s Standby Vaccine List will re-open soon.

Residents interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine should visit the Comal County website and social media pages for updates.

Residents should also continue to look for alternative vaccine locations, such as their primary medical provider or larger mass vaccination hubs.
