Virtual Ceremony to be Held in Remembrance of Sept. 11 Anniversary

Sept 11-01

As the 19th anniversary of the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks on New York and Washington D.C. approaches, the City of New Braunfels is inviting residents to participate in a virtual flag ceremony on Friday morning via the City's Facebook page.

Beginning at approximately 7:40am (rain or shine), a joint Honor Guard made up of members from the New Braunfels Fire Department and the New Braunfels Police Department will begin the ceremony to post, raise, and lower the American flag to half-staff on the Main Plaza in downtown New Braunfels.  The flag ceremony will then be followed by a moment of silence, a performance of Amazing Grace by the New Braunfels Firefighters Pipe and Drum Corps, and the ceremony will end with some closing words and a prayer from a New Braunfels Police Department Chaplain.

New Braunfels residents that wish to view this ceremony remotely can do so by checking the City of New Braunfels Facebook page starting at approximately 7:35am for the live feed from the Main Plaza.
