The City of New Braunfels will resume in-person New Braunfels City Council meetings,
while also maintaining virtual meetings for those that would prefer to watch and participate remotely. This includes the City Council meetings that are regularly held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, and also the special meeting being held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, at 6pm in Council Chambers at New Braunfels City Hall.
It is important to note that, due to a software change by Zoom, the toll free phone options to participate in the virtual meetings have been deactivated. Therefore, anyone whose sole option to participate in a Council meeting was through those toll free numbers will now need to either participate during the in-person Council meeting or to utilize some of the other virtual options that are available. State-mandated health protocols will be in place at these in-person meetings, including requirements to stay socially distant and to wear a mask.
“City business must continue, but it must be done safely for everyone involved,” said New Braunfels Mayor Rusty Brockman. “We ask that those that will be attending City Council meetings in person do so with the health and safety of all in mind, and that they continue to follow the Governor’s orders.”
A time is provided during each City Council meeting for citizens to address the City Council on issues and items of concerns not on the agenda. Citizens may also provide communication to City Council for something not on the City Council agenda before the meeting begins by using one of these three options:
These emails, voicemails, and messages will be distributed to the City Council prior to City Council meetings.
City Council agendas can be viewed online. All City Council meetings, including those using video conference, can still be viewed live online and on television through the City Website, Spectrum Channel 21, or U-verse Channel 99.
