Downtown Lighting Set for November 22nd

– The City of New Braunfels invites everyone to ring in the holiday season on Friday, November 22nd at 6:00 p.m. with the arrival of Santa Claus beneath a hundred thousand twinkling lights in historic downtown New Braunfels.

The dazzling display of low energy and sustainable LED lights stretches through downtown and will remain lit for the holiday season. New Braunfels Community Band will kick off the music for the evening at 6:45 p.m. followed by the Canyon High School Steel Drum Band at 7:30 p.m.

The community is invited to join in the ceremony and countdown to the illumination, when Mayor Barron Casteel will “flip the switch” to officially light downtown and Santa will arrive on a vintage fire truck.

Holiday treats and pictures with Santa on the bandstand will be available for purchase from the New Braunfels Downtown Association. Picture with Santa will be $10, cash only, photos will be in a digital format this year.

Additional partners in this annual event include the New Braunfels Downtown Association, New Braunfels Utilities, and H-E-B. For additional information contact City’s Parks and Recreation Department at 830-221-4350.
