Following the robbery and pursuit that occurred on February 19th, 2018, that ended in a standoff on I-35 at Schwab Road, the New Braunfels Police Department has continued its investigation into the suspect’s activities leading up to the events of that night.
Detectives with the NBPD Criminal Investigations Unit conducted several interviews, collected evidence, and compared evidence from other crimes, leading to an additional charge against 46-year old Ruben Ramirez Jr.
On Tuesday, February 20th, an arrest warrant was secured charging him with the robbery of the Chase Bank location in the 600 block of South Walnut Avenue that occurred on Feb. 9, 2018. The warrant was served while Ramirez was still incarcerated at the Comal County Jail, and bond for that charge was set at $250,000.
The investigation into both robberies, the pursuit, and the I-35 standoff continues and additional charges may be pending, including similar charges brought by other jurisdictions for crimes committed in their area.
