Sports Complex- Phase 1

  New Braunfels Sports Center Complex


 Funded as part of the 2019 Bond program, the New Braunfels Sports Field Complex will enhance the cities park system. In Phase 1 of the project a 150-acre tract at the intersection of Klein Road and FM 1044 will be developed to include soccer fields, baseball fields, softball fields, concessions, restrooms, shade structures and parking. The project is currently in the final design, with construction anticipated to begin in late 2020.

Westside Community Center Library Expansion

Funded through the 2019 Bond Program, the Westside Community Center Library located at 2932 S IH 35 Frontage Road will include a new approximately 8000 square foot full-service library branch. Plans for the Library include curated collections for adults, young adults, and children as well as study rooms, computer workspaces and a drive-up book drop.

Comal Cemetery Wall Stabilization

The Comal Cemetery which is cared for and maintained by the City Parks and Recreation department is located alongside the Guadalupe River. Numerous high water events have resulted in riverbank erosion in close proximity to the historic gravesites. As part of the 2019 bond, mechanical stabilization of the riverbank walls will occur to improve the existing conditions and maintain the beauty and integrity into the future.
