Klein Road is being redeveloped to support the fast paced and continued growth within this area of New Braunfels. Phase 1 of the reconstruction is funded under the 2013 Bond Program and includes roadway widening to include sections with either 3 lanes and a turn lane or 4 lanes with a median, curbs, sidewalks, and ADA amenities. This phase includes the section of Klein Road from FM 1044 to Walnut Avenue. The current construction schedule reflects an anticipated completion in Summer of 2021.The overall project was delayed due to third party utilities.
Klein Road Phase 1 will tie into 2 projects funded under the 2019 Bond - the New Braunfels Sports Complex and Klein Road Phase 2.

As part of the 2013 Bond Program the Alves Lane project includes drainage, utility upgrades, sidewalks and roadway improvements to Alves Lane from State Highway 46 to Barbarosa Road. Work began on the project in January 2018 and has an estimated completion date of Summer 2020. Work on the East side of Alves Lane is complete and construction is ongoing on the West side.

As part of the 2013 Bond project Citywide street improvements, Common Street contractor Clark Construction has completed paving and striping and will begin concrete work to add sidewalks as well as work on ADA improvements to the existing traffic islands . The improvements included are on Common Street between Gruene Rd and Hanz Drive. The project is expected to complete in Spring 2020.
