Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Division Overview

GIS is a collection of people, computer hardware, and software used to create, maintain, and analyze spatial data.

Every department relies on geography to support its day-to-day operations, decision-making, and planning. As such, GIS becomes the foundation for decision-making and information exchange.

The GIS Division is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the City’s enterprise geographic information system.

A centralized database ensures that all departments have access to the most current data in a standardized format, allowing for the integration of business processes.

New Braunfels GIS has published various data sets, application, and maps for use by the public. The links below will bring you to the city's open data pages.
