The Mission of the New Braunfels Police Department Training Unit is to promote professionalism and safety to all Public Safety Personnel by Providing Quality Training and Education
NBPD Training Unit Information
The New Braunfels Police Department is a Contractual Training Provider with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Training is available to TCOLE licensed personnel (Peace Officers, Dispatchers, and Corrections Officers) and other non-licensed public safety personnel (EMS, Paramedics, Fire Department, records clerks, crime scene investigators) with the prior approval from the Chief of Police or the Training Coordinator.
Some training may be located at other TCOLE approved locations. If an alternate training location will be used, the location will be indicated accordingly within the course description.
In order to provide a positive learning environment, Rules of Conduct are posted inside the classroom and are enforced at all times. Any misconduct or disruption of training shall be addressed by the Instructor or the Training Coordinator.
The NBPD Training Room is located inside of the New Braunfels Police Department and can be accessed through the Police Department’s main entrance into the lobby area. Officers from other agencies that are attending training will be admitted into the building 15 minutes prior to the start of the training and proper Identification may be required for access.
Most training offered by the New Braunfels Police Department is free. However, to provide a more diverse opportunity for training, the NBPD will occasionally host training that is presented by other agencies or private organizations. If there are any registration fees to attend these training courses, instructions to register and make payment will be listed in the course description.
When submitting registration to attend training, please complete the registration form to include your name, TCOLE PID number if applicable, name of your agency or organization, your email, and a call back phone number. Some training courses require a minimum number of students in order to conduct the training. If minimum attendance is not met, the training will be canceled. The decision to cancel training will be determined by the Training Coordinator approximately one week prior to the day training begins.
No stand-by lists are available; no walk-in or substitutions of students will be accepted without notification and approval by the Training Coordinator.
If you have any questions or would like to attend training with the New Braunfels Police Department, please contact the NBPD Training Office at (830) 221-4127 or email nbpdtraining@newbraunfels.gov.
