Growing Transit Options

The City of New Braunfels benefits from growing mobility options. Our community is served by Alamo Regional Transit on-demand service, as well as the Alamo Commutes trip planning and carpool app. The 2021 New Braunfels Transit Study presents an assessment of future transit options and a foundation for an implementation plan. These resources can be accessed in the links below.

transit development plan

Work on the Transit Development Plan has begun. Be on the lookout for our transit survey in the next few months. This data will help the City and our Consultant shape the future of our City transportation.

The City of New Braunfels acknowledges significant changes in transportation demand since 2021. The need for public transit has increased as commuters look for ways to get to work or school beyond single-occupancy vehicles.

The Transit Development Plan will examine previous options proposed for fixed route service, also considering on-demand service and ADA paratransit. The plan is expected to be completed within 9 months of its start and will include a community survey.

PUBLIC TRANSIT STUDY

The City of New Braunfels completed a Public Transit Study in June 2021. The Alamo Area MPO contracted with KFH Group to conduct this fixed-route transit study for the City.

This effort gathered community and stakeholder input to identify unmet transportation needs and propose strategies to develop and expand transit alternatives.
