Defeating Deception in Interviews 
Location:  Fire Training Building, Classroom A, 424 S. Castell Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130 
Cost:  $65 per person (must register by emailing Dennis Parker to attend) 
This course is designed to: 
  • Inform the student of verbal and non-verbal indicators of truth and deception 
  • Illustrate those indicators though through the use of videotaped interviews exhibiting the behaviors in real settings
  • Illustrate those behaviors in a classroom interview of volunteer students. Every class includes a challenging “in front of the class” interview of several students which drives home the issues discussed in lecture 
  • Inform students about a behavioral disorder known as Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy 
  • Inform students about “theme development” and its uses to compel a confession Discuss considerations for the time, place and setting for successful interviews 
  • Cement your understanding about deception indicators by observing in-class demonstration

Solutions For Communicating with Difficult People #3027

LOCATION:  NB Fire Training Center / Classroom A:  (424 S. Castell Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130)
The New Braunfels Police Department will be hosting Solutions for Communicating with Difficult People #3027. This course is intended for all Public Safety Professionals: Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, Emergency Dispatchers, or any other personnel who regularly interact with the general public during the course of their duties. This course will show students how they can go from just ignoring a difficult person to understanding their behavior style by providing students with the nine (9) most difficult personalities. This course will empower students with assertive communication skills, thinking styles, coping behaviors, consensus building techniques, and skills to get their point across clearly and persuasively to difficult people. This training is provided free of charge, and successful completion of the course will be reported for TCOLE credit. Please click on the link above to register to attend this training.
