Fighting Crime Through Community Involvement
New Braunfels / Comal County Crime Stoppers began in 1986 and has since proven to be a very useful tool in solving crime. Our program receives money from the court system to pay rewards but must rely on donations and the Annual Crime Stoppers Fun Run fundraiser for monies to operate the program.
What is Crime Stoppers?
New Braunfels / Comal County Crime Stoppers is not a unit of the New Braunfels Police Department or Comal County Sheriff's Office, but a self-sufficient non-profit corporation composed of citizens from New Braunfels and Comal County that provides a mechanism for anyone who wishes to report information about:
- A crime
- Location of a wanted person
- Illegal drugs
- Stolen property
What Do I Do if I Know About a Crime?
Call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (830) 620-TIPS (620-8477) or 1-800-640-8422 and give the information about the crime. You will be asked some basic questions but you will not be asked to give your name.
You will be given a code number and instructions on how to call back to learn about the progress of your tip. Your code number is your only link to the Crime Stoppers Hotline, so you need to remember and protect it.
If the information you provide is substantiated and helps solve a crime, you may be entitled to a cash reward. It is your responsibility to check back with us so that you can learn if you are eligible for the reward. The amount of the reward and how to collect it will be explained to you when you call.
