The New Braunfels Police Department is continually seeking diverse, highly motivated, community-oriented officers with integrity, who are willing to face a variety of challenges and responsibilities.   • Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code - Municipal Civil Service for Police Officers and Firefighters
  • Starting salary for certified peace officers is $46,023.00 per year plus $3000.00 signing bonus ($1000.00 per year/3 yrs)
  • All uniforms, footwear, vehicles, equipment, and weapons provided (handgun, shotgun, and patrol rifle).
  • Education, Assignment, and Certification pay available.
  • Paid vacation days, sick leave, and military leave available.

Employment Opportunities
The New Braunfels is looking for high quality individuals to join the ranks of our department.  Once hired and upon completion of the field training program, probationary period and a required length of time in patrol, you have the option to pursue a variety of career opportunities, including the Criminal Investigations Unit, Traffic Unit, K-9 Unit, and Narcotics Unit. You may also pursue specialized positions such as field training officer, honor guard, Specialized Response Team (SRT) and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT). Members of the New Braunfels Police Department are also provided with the latest state of the art equipment and each receives extensive year-round in-service training both in house, as well as through outside school opportunities.

The New Braunfels Police Department generally has employment opportunities in Communications, Records, and Support Services for non-sworn civilian personnel.

Application Minimum Qualification Requirements
Certified Police Officer
: Must have a minimum certification of a Peace Officers License from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement  (TCOLE) in good standing and/or have passed the TCOLE State License Exam no later than the time and date of the written examinationThere is no degree requirement for certified applicants.  The applicant meeting this requirement shall also receive a preference over Non-Certified Police Officer Applicants.
