Animal control officers perform a variety of duties for the citizens of New Braunfels, including:
- Investigate cruelty cases and dog bites
- Perform wildlife rescues
- Remove sick or injured animals
- Inspect local animal shops and grooming parlors
This commitment also involves:
- Providing sanitary shelter for lost and stray animals
- Implementing and enforcing the animal licensing program
- Providing veterinary medical care as required
- Promoting the rabies vaccination program
- Promoting responsible pet stewardship
