Valentine’s Day will once again be marked with romance and chocolate—but this year also with a Gothic horror novel, if you join the New Braunfels Public Library’s new Horror Book Group.
“We are thrilled about this new book group, which showcases the horror genre in all its ‘gory’,” said Digital Services Librarian Miranda Robbins, who is spearheading the group. “Whether they’re horror-novel buffs or just like reading in the dark, hearing things go bump in the night and discussing scary stories, I hope patrons are ready to join us in reading these terrifying, thrilling and spine-chilling books.”
The Horror Book Group is scheduled for the second Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning on February 14th. The group will meet in the conference room in the library, located at 700 E. Common Street.
The group’s first read is “The Silent Companions,” by Laura Purcell. Library patrons — adults and teens are welcome — interested in joining should call Robbins at 830-221-4320 to discuss how to get a copy of the book.
