This Saturday, June 14th, will kick off the New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department’s Pool Power Hour program for children with special needs. On designated Saturday mornings, beginning June 14th through August 2nd from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m....
... the Landa Park Aquatic Complex zero depth pool will be open for children with special needs and their parents at no cost.
“We are excited to be offering this program for the second year,” says Robin Kunkel, Recreation Manager. “These events are great for both capable swimmers and folks who want to give the pool a try. The goal of this program is to provide an atmosphere where children with special needs can feel comfortable, learn, grow and have fun in the water.”
Trained pool staff and recreation students from Texas State University Department of Health and Human Performance will be on hand to facilitate use of the pool and lifeguards will also be on duty.
The Pool Power Hour will not be available on July 5th or 19th. For more information about the program, call the Landa Park Aquatic Complex at 830-221-4360.
