Comal County Residents and Businesses Can Apply for Storm Recovery Assistance

Individuals and business owners in Comal County can apply for federal assistance to help recover from damages sustained in this past week’s winter storm.

This assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of this storm.

In response to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance and Public Assistance, the Biden Administration approved the request for 77 counties and for Public Assistance (Emergency Protective Measures Only) in all 254 counties.

Those who sustained losses in the designated counties, including Comal and Guadalupe counties, can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462-7585.
