The City of New Braunfels is now accepting applications from local arts or heritage organizations for program funding.
Such organizations must hold a 501(c)3 designation by the Internal Revenue Service and as defined in the Texas Tax Code Section 351.101.
The City of New Braunfels takes applications annually to distribute Hotel/Motel Tax Funds to qualifying local organizations that promote arts or heritage events and projects within New Braunfels that benefit citizens and visitors. City Secretary Patrick Aten, who oversees the program, states, “A portion of the hotel/motel tax that our overnight visitors pay goes toward these organizations that not only enrich our community, but also help to continue to draw-in overnight visitors to New Braunfels’ local hotels. Last year, we distributed more than $630,000 to 18 different arts and heritage organizations. We are happy to review the guidelines and restrictions for how to apply and how the funds can be used with anyone interested in the program.”
Applications and guidelines are available in the City Secretary’s Office, at 550 Landa Street, or online at www.nbtexas.org/citysecretaryforms. Completed applications must be returned to the City Secretary’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. For additional information, call 830-221-4010.
