Guadalupe County is developing their first
ever strategic plan. It will detail county needs and policy priorities now and
into the future. A huge component of the report will be based on community
input. The plan will ultimately help county officials and leaders direct efforts
and resources towards projects and initiatives which align with the community’s
goals and vision for the future.
They are asking residents to fill out
their community survey and to attend either of the two town halls; one will be
held at the Seguin City Coliseum on June 20th and the other at the Schertz
Civic Center on June 27th, both from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
For further information, visit the project
website at www.guidingguadalupe.com. There you will be able to find information
about the strategic plan and town halls, as well as the community survey you
can complete online. The website will be up through mid-July and completion of
the plan is set for early August.
Planning and Community
Development Director, Christopher J. Looney, notes that “It is exciting that
Guadalupe County is embarking upon a strategic plan on the heels of New
Braunfels’ update to our Community Comprehensive Plan, and in the midst of San
Antonio’s implementation of their recently adopted Master Plan. Our communities
share workforce and transportation infrastructure daily. Anything we can do to develop options for
mobility is worth the effort and partnerships.
We look forward to collaborating with Guadalupe County on projects and
plan implementation in the future.”
