City Seeks Applicants for Bond Advisory Committee At-Large Members

The City of New Braunfels is seeking residents and/or property owners to serve on the next Bond Advisory Committee. This committee will provide recommendation to the City Council on projects to consider for inclusion in a proposed 2019 Bond Package.

This Bond Advisory Committee will be appointed by the end of November 2017, with committee work beginning in January of 2018. Recommendations from the Committee will be delivered to City Council by April 2018.

The City Council defined the makeup of the Committee with a Chair plus 21 voting members:

  • The Mayor appoints one Committee Chair (non-voting member)
  • The Mayor and Councilmembers each appoint one member
  • Immediate past Chair or current Chair of the Chamber of Commerce Board
  • Chair (or Chair’s designee) of the following boards/commissions:
    • Downtown Board
    • Library Advisory Board
    • NBIDC (4B) Board
    • NBU Board
    • Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
    • Planning Commission
    • River Advisory Committee
    • Watershed Advisory Committee
    • Historic Landmark Commission
    • Arts Commission
  • Three at-large members

The three at-large members shall be New Braunfels residents and/or property owners. Applications from potential at-large members are being accepted by the City Secretary until November 1, 2017. Paper versions of the form are also available at City Hall in the City Secretary’s Office.
