Counselor in Training (CIT)

The Counselor In Training (CIT) program is designed to provide opportunities for teens to grow in the areas of leadership and responsibility while beginning to gain valuable work skills for future use. The CIT role at camp provides support to the camp staff and campers by assisting with activities and camp events, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and the well-being of campers.

Responsibilities…

  • Provide hands on assistance to counselors in the areas of camper care, activities and programs, safety and supervision.
  • Assist with keeping a safe and clean working environment.
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship and be a good role model for campers.
  • Meet with the CIT Coordinator once a week, each week you are attending, to brainstorm ideas for the next week of Camp’s ABC’s (Activity By Choice) and All Camp Event’s.


To Apply:

  • Read the letter from the coordinators and CIT responsibilities completely.
  • Fill out and return the CIT questionnaire and application information sheet to cpaddock@nbtexas.org or 164 Landa Park Drive by May 1st.
  • Get at least 1 CIT reference form filled out by a teacher or other non-relative adult in your life and returned to cpaddock@nbtexas.org or 164 Landa Park Drive by May 1st (New CIT’s Only).
  • If selected, you will need to attend one of the following CIT Orientation Days:
    • Thursday, May 14th at 5pm
    • Saturday, May 16th at 2pm
    • If neither of these days work for you, please let me know as soon as possible and we can talk about scheduling a different day.
