NBPD Surveillance Camera Registration
One of the most effective ways to solve crimes is through the use of evidence captured on video surveillance, and NBPD is discovering that more and more of our residents are utilizing video and camera surveillance systems on the exterior of their homes or businesses to help capture criminals.

With recent successes in solving crimes by placing suspect photos on our Facebook page, local newspapers, Crime Stoppers bulletins, and local television news broadcasts, the New Braunfels Police Department is now initiating a program where citizens can register their exterior facing surveillance cameras with the police department in an effort to assist us in solving crimes. Similar programs are being used by several surrounding agencies, including the Comal County Sheriff's Office C.A.P.T.U.R.E. (Community And Police Team Up to Record Evidence) program.

When a crime occurs in the vicinity of a residence that has a registered camera, an investigator will make contact with the owner and ask permission to view their video in an attempt to identify the suspect or any suspicious activity.

Knowledge of cameras in and around the city will save investigators valuable time and could help in apprehending criminals or solving cases. It can also be used to locate lost children, elderly, or disabled persons.

Participation in this program is completely voluntary and NBPD will always have to get your consent to view the images or footage that you capture from your camera system.

If you are interested in participating in this program, please
